The word acne brings up very unpleasant images in the minds of most people. Acne is an inflammatory process of the skin, which can be triggered by different factors – infection by the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes, hormonal misbalance or outside causes like medication, low-quality cosmetics, stress, etc.
Where does it come from?
It all begins with the over-secretion of the sebaceous glands. Then come bacteria, which infect the excess amounts of sebum causeing inflammation of the follicles – the tiny roots of the soft fuzz of facial hair. This is also the cause for comedones, a.k.a. blackheads.
There are several types of acne known to dermatologists. Blackheads are a mild form of acne, but they can develop into something less benign. If a pore is clogged there are two possibilities: it can either develop into a comedo, or, if you are less fortunate, into a red pimple with or without a white head. If the inflammation is intense, small skin cysts may form around the pimples. Fortunately, they are rare and develop only in people who are especially prone to the heavy forms of acne. This tendency is genetic and can be manifested among the members of the same family.
We are used to regarding acne as a teenage problem, but research shows that it can even affect people in their 30s. Teenagers’ skin is oilier and their pores are easily clogged, yet their sebaceous glands do not stop functioning. Since the sebum cannot find a way out, it soon turns into a pimple or blackhead. It is rare for boys and girls to go through puberty without acne. But it is even stranger that much older people share this teen problem. Acne is surprisingly common among people between the ages of 25-30.
How to fight it
It is important to take timely action against acne. Be mindful of the type of cosmetics you use. There are many products with ingredients that can worsen the condition of your acne, cause allergies and other inflammations. Other products can be well advertised and offered at low prices, but have superficial and fleeting effects.
It is recommended that you use cosmetics containing 30 to 100% of aloe vera, where all the ingredients are mixed with aloe instead of alcohol or water.
Aloe vera gel is a powerful antioxidant. It improves the immunity of the body and facilitates its detoxification. It cleanses, restores and stimulates the production of new cells.

Deep cleaning aloe scrub mask – a gentle scrub for cleaning facial skin two times per week. The microspheres of jojoba remove impurities without irritating the skin. Aloe scrub gently removes dead cells and excess materials, which clog the pores and give the skin an unhealthy look. Skin cells regenerate every 21 to 28 days.
