As we diligently care for our facial skin, let us also not neglect the delicate skin of the neck area. For irritations of the skin in the neck area, popular medicine suggests soothing procedures with salt.
After taking a bath or shower, rinse shoulders with the following solution: 2 tablespoons of salt dissolved in 4 cups of warm purified water. Instead of salt you can also use baking soda.
If the skin on your shoulders or back is heavily inflamed, it is advisable that you take a warm bath with potassium permanganate (a.k.a. Condy’s crystals).
Also, regularly perform exfoliating procedures and masks on your neck area. They are very similar to those meant for the face. Especially beneficial is the mask based on white clay.
To make the skin of your neck area more durable and to provide it with the necessary amount of oxygen, prepare the following lotion:
Boil 2 teaspoons of dry peppermint leaves in half liter of water for 2 minutes. Add fruit vinegar and remove from burner. Add 2 tablespoons of rose water. Preserve lotion in a dark container. Apply to shoulders and upper back and chest every morning and night.
For restoration of elasticity and nourishment of the neck area skin you can use simple and easy homemade masks. Mix 1 tablespoon cottage cheese with 1 tablespoon nourishing lotion and apply, leaving for 20 minutes. Wash with warm and rinse with cool water.
