The greatest factor in having a beautiful, radiant skin is sufficient daily care.
Cleansing the skin
It is a well known fact that in the heat of summer skin is more prone to greasing. That is why in the evening, together with makeup, we should also remove the dirt and dust particles accumulated in the pores during the day.
But while performing this procedure it is important not to deprive the skin of much needed moisture. If you use all-natural cleansing products, the cleaning of the skin is done without removing its natural fatty-layer or destroying its PH balance.
Especially good for deep cleaning are products based on ingredients such as white grapes, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries and green tea. Apply product with the help of a cotton ball or pad, working from the base of the neck up towards the chin, mouth, nose, cheeks, temples and forehead. Afterwards, depending on your skin type and preferences, you can remove the cleansing product with either tonic lotion or water. If you do not have a store-bought cleansing product, you can make a homemade mask from fresh strawberries or kiwi, or simply rub the skin with halved grapes.
Toning the skin
Toning products remove all traces of dirt, dust and grease remaining after the initial cleansing. They also remove whatever is left over of the cleansing product while stimulating the circulation and renewing the PH balance.
Toning products can roughly be divided into three categories – softening (intended for dry and sensitive skin), toning (for normal skin) and tightening (for oily skin). Apply toning lotion to a cotton ball or pad and spread on face, beginning at the base of the neck and working upwards while avoiding the eye area.
For dry skin, use lotion containing kiwi, peach, rose water or green tea.
Oily skin is benefited by blackberry, apricot and calendula extract.
For normal and mixed type skin, it is best to choose products containing mango, strawberries and cornflower extract. They simultaneously tone, moisturize and nourish the skin.
Moisturizing the skin
In the winter, skin moisturizing is done in the evening, while in the summer it needs to be intensified – morning and evening. Moisturizing products help regain and sustain the natural levels of moisture in the skin which is essential, especially in hot weather. They form a thin layer on top of the skin which prevents evaporation of moisture and protects the skin against the harmful effects of the environment. Apply moisturizing lotion on clean skin with the tips of your fingers at points along the neck, chin, cheekbones and forehead, avoiding the area of the eyes. Spread lotion with circular motions, again beginning at the base of the neck and working upward.
