Eyes are probably the most important part of the whole image of your face. This is why they require a lot of care. Following are a few homemade recipes to help you care for the delicate skin around the eyes.
Natural oil for eyelids
Pour 1 tablespoon of pure olive oil into a small jar and to it add 3 drops of each vitamin E and A. Mix well with a cotton swab and use mixture to moisturize skin around the eyes every morning and night. Simply apply a small amount of oil to skin and rub in gently. To prevent the skin from attaining a greasy shine, wipe away after 30 minutes, dabbing with a soft tissue. In place of olive oil you can also use almond, peach or rose oil.
Recipe for homemade nourishing lotion against wrinkles
Carefully mix one tablespoon of soft butter or margarine with one raw egg yolk and 1 to 1 ½ tablespoons of finely chopped rose petals. Instead of rose, you can also use lily or jasmine petals. It is also beneficial to add pollen-containing stamen from the abovementioned plants. Mix thoroughly and apply under eyes at night. Mixture can be refrigerated for up to 7 days.
For a healthy nourishment of the eyelids, each night before bed apply diluted camphor, grape, peach, apricot and/or rose oil. You can alternate oils, using a different kind every week, or combine them in equal parts.
Nourishing and moisturizing lotion
Combine one teaspoon of each liquid honey, glycerin and powdered gelatin. Add 4-5 tablespoons of purified or mineral water. Put container with mixture in a larger container filled with hot water for 10 minutes. Afterwards mix or beat until smooth. Use mixture as a nourishing lotion for eyelids. It keeps well in refrigerator for up to one week.
Recipe for homemade softening lotion
This lotion helps smooth over fine wrinkles.
Steam-melt one teaspoon lanolin and add 2 tablespoons of almond butter as well as ½ teaspoon powdered lecithin dissolved in 2 tablespoons of mineral (or better yet rose) water. Steam again, stirring constantly for about 2 minutes. Remove from heat, beat mixture with a fork and let cool. This lotion is recommended for night use.
Eyelid lotion against fine wrinkles
Olive oil makes a very good base for this lotion. To two tablespoons of olive oil add two drops of essential oil of rosemary. You can also add geranium and/or vervain oil. Mix well and gently rub into eyelids before bed.
