The skin on the face and hands suffers most acutely from the loss of moisture and other harmful effects of the environment, but other parts of the body are also susceptible to dehydration and should not be neglected.
Scalp: You can avoid dryness of the scalp and the irritating itchiness that goes with it, by thoroughly rinsing the shampoo out of your hair when showering and applying the right amount of conditioner.
Cheeks: Protect them from the strong wing with a thin layer of lotion or cream and cover them with a scarf in harsh weather.
Lips: Use a balm or chap-stick for cracked lips. Do not attempt to moisten them by licking, because this will worsen their condition. When saliva evaporates from the surface of the lips it takes away with it the little natural moisture that was left on them.
Cuticles: They can become flaky and start to peel. You can prevent that by using a special lotion or hand cream. Apply it before going to bed to give it sufficient time to take effect.
Feet: Treat them with a generous amount of lotion or cream in the evening and wear socks to bed. If you can tolerate sleeping with gloves, do the same for your hands.
