In the morning
Even normal skin can become dry in the winter. If you notice redness or flakes on your face, or start feeling a pulling, tightening sensation, you must decrease the time you spend doing procedures that involve water. Do your morning face-wash at least an hour before you have to go out. If temperatures are low, do not wash your face. Just clean it with a cotton ball dipped in cleansing lotion. Homemade spring mask with cottage cheese

This cottage cheese mask has a nourishing effect and helps cleanse the skin from dead cells. It is rich in calcium and selenium, which help keep the skin youthful. To make the mask, mix together 1 tablespoon of cottage cheese, 1 tablespoon of sour cream and 2 tablespoons of ground almonds. Apply to face for 20 minutes, the last couple of which massage it with gentle circular motions. Rinse away with cool water and follow up with a moisturizing lotion. Use twice weekly for best results.

Homemade herbal spring mask

This herbal mask smoothes and tones the skin and soothes inflammation.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of dry salvia
2 tablespoons of dry lavender
2 tablespoons of dry chamomile
Crush herbs and add hot water. Stir to form a thick paste. Cover for a few minutes. Apply mixture to face and neck area and keep for 20 minutes. Rinse away with warm water and apply moisturizer.

A potato facial mask against puffiness, which you can make at home

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of raw potato, shredded
1 tablespoon of flour
2 tablespoons of pasteurized milk or sour cream
Mix all ingredients. If the mask turns out to be too runny, add more flour. Apply to the skin of the face and more particularly around the eyes. Let it stay on for 15-20 minutes. Wash away with cool water and follow with cold. This mask should be done 10 times every other day and after that – whenever necessary.
